Survival of the Duckling Sleepover!

I did it! Yes once again I have survived the dreaded duckling sleepover. The Kintergarden class at my kids school hatches duck eggs during the spring. The during the last 2 weeks of school the baby ducks can come home with your child overnight. When A was in K we did it and I was totally paranoid that it would die on my watch. That duck survived. Now it is C's turn and we had 2 baby ducks spend the night. Thankfully both made it. I was so relieved to deliver them back to the classroom! I'll have to do it one more time next year when O is in kintergarden but then I'll be done forever. They are cute. The first photo is C with Daisy the duckling and the second is a picture of both ducklings.

This is a picture I took at my niece's baptism yesterday. The one in the center is my nephew and the other two are my boys. All are total buds and have the best time together. Brothers, cousins and friends, doesn't get better!

Found this cute picture and had to add it! This is exactly the kind of house I wish we lived it! Love the shutters, the porch all of it. The irony is that we live in CA and there are a ton a hacienda looking dwellings which excite me not at all. Actually we live in a similar looking house but it is a rental and a not this cute! Alhtough I am working on it!

This is the end my friend

Well it's official. I am a sustainer. I had been an active member of the Junior League Palo Alto Mid Peninsula for over 10 years. What with my new full time job and working in the kids school, it was time but a sad feeling. This is me and a long time friend C being recognized as new sustainers at our Annual Dinner.

Walk A Jog, in Pink!

Yesterday was the Walk a Jog event at my kids school. It is followed by the carnival and I am the carnival chair. As befitting a Lilly Girl, here I am, covered in pink cotton candy after my turn on the machine. The other picture is my daughter C and her best friend E.

Do you ever?

Do you ever see something in a store or catalogue an just have to have it. It gives you satisfaction just hanging in your closet even if you never wear it? I do. For me this season is the ruffled victorian cami from JCrew in melon. Now I love all things Jcrew. This cami of beautiful. I'm nver quite sure what to wear it with. It seems to fancy for work and to special for shorts. I'm at a loss but had do have it and won't return it. It makes me happy just hanging there.

Baseball and Mothers Day

I just had to share how cute this was. My son A (he's 8) plays little league baseball. He'd want me to say Baseball, NOT T-ball. Anyway they had a game on Motherday at 1:30. We had my parents and sister with her kids come for lunch and watch the game. All of a sudden, part way through the game all the kids came running off the fields to the stands with roses which they gave all the moms before running back and resuming play. It was really sweet. Thjs is a picture of A and me. Yes, he plays catcher.

Our Last Hurrah!

It's hard to belive another Junior League year is drawing to a close. This year I was on the Nominating Committee, selecting leaders for next year. Our final event was the New Leaders Social yesterday. It was a lovely event but a little sad as I am going sustaining. This is a picture of my committee. I'm in the back on the left. Boots and Saddles, It's Derby Day

It's almost post time! I love hearing the horn call "boots and saddles". It gives me chills. In high school I had a horse that had been a race horse in a previous career. Sometimes at a horse show they blow that before a big class and it always made him nuts! Happy Derby Day and may the best horse win!
