Making Lemonade

You know how they say "when life gives you lemons, make lemondade"? Well I have been making alot of lemondade this past weekend! Friday night, the begining of a long weekend, the weather was beautiful here in Northen California. We had great weekend plans including a trip to the beach. However, Hubby, tripped over some stairs and broke his leg. Yes, that's right so off to emergency we went. I have to say, if you are hurt on the SF Penisula, the Mills Penisula Hospital has a lovely new emergency room! See, lemondae! Anyway, also on the lemonade side is that as far as breaks go it is simple and clean and should heal easily! Just not the weekend I was planning for! Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

Happy Valentines Day!

Wishing everyone a Happy Valentines Day! We generally go pretty lowe key so nothing to report. AGB is going to hisd first middle school dance, the 6th graders were not included in the winter formal. He doesn't have a "special someone" but all his friends are going so he is too. Cards and flowers for the elementary school teachers. Hope you enjoy the slightly special feel of a holiday day!

Quality vs. Quantity

When you are investing in your wardrobe, which do you go for, quality or qunatity? I have been trying to focus on quality and add few, but nicer pieces to my closet. It's not always easy for me to do. Ebay, in particular is my weakness. A great price or sale is tempting. I recently went into J Crew and they were having their final sale at 57% off. There were two pairs of wool cafe capris in the store. They were my size and I grabbed them and almost ran to the dressing room. I knew they would be ichy and I knew they weren't flattering on me because I had tried them on before. Thankfully sanity won out and I left them in the store but it was a near thing. I'm trying to focus on pruning my closet so that every piece in it is something I love and that fits and looks good. It's not an easy task as some pieces are hard to get rid of. What do you think?  Quality or Quanity?

The Power of Cousins

I was always the oldest growing up. My closest cousin was 10 years younger. I used to babysit, not play. I'm glad my kids are getting experience the fun of cousins first hand. On Hubby's side, my kdis are the youngest. The oldest there are married with kids of their own. But on my side my kdis aer the oldest and there are several pretty close in age. They sure have fun!

This is my son AGB with his youngest cousin E. She is my sister's daughter and just worships him. He is very good with her and lets her follow him everywhere.
This is my son OPB with his cousin T. T is my sisters son and they are only about 16 months part. They consider each other their best friend and get on great!
This is the whole bunch. My kids, my sister's and my cousin"s. My cousin's kids are just slightly younger then OPB and T and a little odler than my sister's youngest, E. Right in the middle you might say. This picture is up at the family cabin near Yosemite where we go every summer for a long weekend of 'cousin fun"!
